About Us:

Transit Systems Security began operation as a licensed security service on August 1, 1980, and was incorporated on March 27, 1981. The company is wholly owned and operated by Lawrence Richman, President and founder.

 

Standards:

Officers are recruited on the basis of customer relation skills, appearance, experience and background. All officer candidates undergo extensive background checks including past employers, military records and criminal records checks.  Each candidate is screened for attitude toward drug use, theft and dishonesty. Preferred recruiting sources include security training schools, military service, personal referrals and law enforcement agencies.

If you meet these basic prerequisites, we may have a job for you. We have full-time positions available for patrol officers, CCTV monitoring personnel and radio dispatchers.  If you have a background in any of the above disciplines, be sure to let us know.

 

Qualifications:

 

Qualified individuals must be able to pass our standards, which include:

  • Professional appearance, speech and oral communication skills.
  • Written communication ability including spelling and handwriting
  • Passing background investigation and criminal history checks
  • Verifiable work references and a satisfactory employment history
  • Honesty and drug testing.  Applicants are subject to pre-employment and random DOT drug/alcohol testing.  The use of any illicit drugs whatsoever is disqualifying.
  • The ability to work any hours, days and holidays (Currently, Transit Systems Security does not offer part-time opportunities.  Part-time opportunities may be found here).
  • Possession of a valid California Guard Registration Card issued by the State of California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (click here for more information).  A computer printout from BSIS is acceptable while the hard card is in transit.
